Q-H-Q

  1. I really liked the question-hypothesis-question exercise that we did, and thought it helped very greatly in the development of my second essay. It helped me understand on a more fundamental level how the developing CIQ works and also to get my ideas out and further them into more of an idea path outside my actual paper. This format made it more clear how the essay was supposed to be written and I think works really well to start up ideas. I like how this exercise is literally exploring the answer to a question might be, which is what the actual essay is supposed to do but in a more flowing way.
Through this brainstorming process it was really easy to put down and organize everything I was thinking into a format that translates well into the actual essay. I think just getting ideas out into paper is the first most important step in writing any paper so for me, writing this helped more than the other brainstorming practices we did and I think shows my growing understanding for what the idea path and growing thesis is supposed to be.
In class after we read our CIPs to classmates, we also wrote two more Q-H-Qs at the end of the paper as can be seen in the pictures. This really helped both develop the ideas that were already on the paper and also to get new ideas and complicate questions I had already asked. By the end, I had an abundance of ideas and questions to choose from for my paper and made me understand how important developing a thesis can be.
